Residing in Iowa, Riley doesn't join us as much as we'd like. But when she does, she brings some great grooming experience and handling knowledge to the team. Riley got started in dog shows at age fourteen. Shortly thereafter, she finished her very first show dog, a Cairn Terrier by the name of "Zach" (Ch. Paragon's Stately Affair, CD RN CGC) before powering him to multiple group ones as well as other notable placements (35 group placements, predominately owner-handled) and a Top 10 ranking as a special. After retiring Zach from the specials ring, Riley trained and handled him to his CD and RN titles in 3 trials each. She also handled "Watson" (BIS, Multiple BISS Am./Can./Intl. Ch. Paragon's Well Chosen) to a Top 5 Cairn Terrier ranking in 2005, as well as to a Best in Specialty Show over the #1 and #2 Cairns in the United States his first day as a Veteran. Riley had an impressive Junior Showmanship career, especially for someone who didn't start until she was fifteen. She holds title to being the All-Time Top Winning Cairn Terrier Junior Handler, finishing 2005 as the #1 Cairn Junior & #11 Terrier Junior, finishing 2006 as the #1 Cairn Junior, #3 Terrier Junior, and #30 overall Junior Handler in the United States, and upon aging out in 2007, was #1 Cairn Junior, #1 Terrier Junior, and #7 overall Junior in the nation (she finished the year as the #1 Cairn Junior with over 570 points more than the 2nd ranked Cairn Junior, the #3 Terrier Junior, and the #12 overall Junior).
While pursuing her teaching degree in college, Riley serves as the personal handler for Paragon Cairn Terriers.
