While growing up, Dr. Pepper became Kelly's star in the junior's ring. Together they earned the State of Illinois Junior Handler of the Year, 2003 competition (earning Kelly a $1000 scholarship), as well as Best Junior Handler at the 2003 Pug Dog Club of America National Specialty. They also qualified in both 2003 and 2004 for the AKC Eukanuba National Invitational and Westminster Kennel Club. In limited showing in 2005, Dr. Pepper garnered a Best in Specialty Show (thank you Mr. William Cunningham), back-to-back Group Ones (thank you Mrs. Peggy Hogg and Mr. Richard Chashoudian), as well as many other wonderful breed wins and Group Placements! He finished the year ranked as the #14 Breed Pug (Canine Chronicle), #16 All-Breed Pug (Canine Chronicle), and #15 Pug (Pug Dog Club of America). In limited showing in 2006, Dr. Pepper garnered multiple Group Placements, as well as finishing the year ranked as the #19 Breed Pug (Canine Chronicle) and #22 Pug (Pug Dog Club of America). We'd like to extend a big "thank you" to Carlos J. Puig and the rest of the Handling with Style crew for their professional presentation and loving care of Dr. Pepper on the road when Kelly was unable to show due to conflicts with college.
Dr. Pepper is now retired from the specials ring, though he may make an occasional appearance for fun with Kelly. We'd like to extend sincere thanks to all of those that supported Dr. Pepper and Kelly on their endeavors in the both the specials and juniors rings. It was only with that encouragement and support that they were able to accomplish as many things as they did.
